From small acorns to great oaks grow …
Stallions At Stud was born out of a necessity to find a suitable
stallion for my 2003 Garryowen winner Inferno.
Following conversations with a number of Australia’s breeders –
both large and small – I found everyone faced the same problem
… a desperate need for a publication that covered all breeds and all
requirements for stallion selection.
Hence, the book before you: the first edition of Stallions At
Stud, containing information on nearly 200 performance,
pleasure and sport horse stallions standing (or offering semen
availability) in Australia.
Stallions At Stud has been designed to provide telling statistics to
assist with the all so vital selection process and you will also find
features on Stars of Tomorrow, Great Sires of the Past and Stud
Profiles, plus a Trade Directory.
I would like to thank, firstly, the support of stallion owners and
stud managers, particularly in an era of financial difficulties
due to last year’s devastating EI outbreak. I also appreciate the
tremendous support of the design, sales and editorial team in
putting this all together.
Distributed through newsagencies, saddlery stores and a large
subscriber pre-order base, this annual publication’s aim is to
become the most widely read and invaluable reference of its kind.
The breeding industry bible.
Welcome to Stallions At Stud.
